People Helping People

About us

The United Kingdom Chapter of Adventist Guyanese and Friends (UCAG) was founded in 2006 by six Guyanese who wanted to support families and communities back home. Guyana is rich in resources yet many vulnerable groups still lack basic necessities, and UCAG stepped in to help.

Since then, we’ve provided essential items—clothes, shoes, bedding, medical supplies, equipment, and food—to senior homes, hospitals, schools, and orphanages across Guyana. Our 2017 shoebox appeal delivered over 100 pairs of school shoes and other supplies to two orphanages, and we continue efforts such as collecting wheelchairs for Georgetown Hospital.

Our mission also includes local support in the UK through soup kitchen donations and a burial fund for families in need. Each year we host the Guyana Day of Fellowship and our Charity Banquet, along with other smaller events that bring our community together.

As we look ahead, we remain committed to assisting orphanages, senior homes, and expanding into projects like scholarships and classroom support. Guided by our motto, “People Helping People,” we continue serving with compassion and faith.
